Using Mediafire/4shared/rapidshare at UCLA

does anyone know if the admins care if the students use the said websites to download files?

The admins dont care. Where you gotta be careful is the companies that own the rights to whatever music/film/whatever u are downloading. Direct Downloading off of file hosting websites is by far the safest way to pirate material, but it IS possible to be caught. If companies bother to, they can request your ISP for a full history of your activity, or they can track IP’s off of the forums you use and find you.

That being said, don’t illegally download material in general. Especially at UCLA, you got to be careful. In particular music, because those companies care the most. Moviez are borderline, and porn tends to be ok lol.

You know this from prior experience?

It’s kind of common sense to not download anything American. You can get away with more foreign stuff, especially foreign porn. I think that’s the point thekingkobra is trying to make.
