For courses like Intro Neuro and Chem 33, would it be fine to use a textbook that is one edition older than the one listed under the course?

Also, how does the library system work? Would it be possible to borrow (even if for just a few hours at a time) the aforementioned textbooks from the Rock?

From current student:
Neuro: there was one major revision to the text with a few totally new chapters, and the course actually uses the textbook because it was written by the profs. They don’t put out a new edition every year just to make money like many textbooks, so there are plenty of used copies of 3rd edition.
Chem 330: how much the textbook material matters depends on the professor, but have different problem numbers would be quite a hassle either way. There are “reserve” copies of most textbooks in the Rock but that’s not a substitute for having your own text throughout the semester. I do, however, know some people who had an old edition and used a combination of friends’ books and Rock reserve to figure out the problem numbers (think cell phone camera!).
