Using printers at McGill?

I'm looking into buying a printer/scanner unit and was planning on getting a laser printer because they're cheaper over time. However, they're also a lot more expensive initially and larger than inkjet counterparts (which I can get $100 off when I purchase my macbook pro).

I was thinking of just using the free epson laser printer I get (reviews are good for it too) for convenience, mainly when I need colour or if I'm in a rush, and using official McGill printers for the bulk of my printing needs.

Is this my best option? Are McGill printers readily available or are they even free to use? Any info on the printer situation at McGill would be great.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew (in mainly life sci & psych classes) whether colour printing is even needed? Maybe I can just get a monochrome b&w.

I believe to print it is about 8 cents to print per page. I’d recommend using your own printer.
