I'm currently using PSATs as a prep for my SATs since I don't have enough tests to go around (this is including QAS, Online course tests and the BB). So I've started using previously released PSATs and the 10 RS book.

Does the PSATs provide a good indicator of how well you're progressing? I know the math is a little easier, but what about the other sections?

Yes, PSAT's are great for studying. PSAT's actually come from old SAT's that have not been released. The only difference is that the math on the SAT will have a few harder problems (Algebra 2) . The writing and CR will be the same.

I personally find the math to have been harder on the PSAT; the reason being that it has a bit more Geometry which is my weakest area as I took it so long ago. The Algebra questions on the SAT are almost always a joke.

The main difference between the tests is the time it takes to finish them. The PSAT is not a draining test, the SAT is.
