Hey guys,

You might have remembered me from a few months ago talking about how I have recently won a ton of scholarships. Gates, JP Morgan, Sam Walton's Walmart scholarship, and a USTA scholarship. Now naturally with extra cash in your Bursar account I'm trying to find uses to use some of my supplemental money. Whether it's getting a free meal plan, textbooks, or just dorm materials.

Right now I have 4,500 dollars in excess cash from the USTA serves scholarship and Sam Walton scholarships. With the extra money I want to know whether it might be possible for me to buy an ipad (I need an ebook reader to store and buy the hefty list of books that my writing classes are asking of me). If not an Ipad, either a nook or a kindle. Also would it be fine to use the money to buy stuff for my dorm. Whether that's bed sheets from bath and beyond, or a miniature fridge?

Sorry to ask these questions without giving a background about what the scholarships detail.

USTA:The recipients of the USTA Serves College Education Scholarship are eligible to receive $1,500 per year for a total of up to $6,000 to cover costs of tuition, room and board and educational materials. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college or university in which the student is enrolled and is disbursed annually based on the recipients standing with his/her college. If a recipient of a USTA Serves scholarship is enrolling in a two-year community college program they will be awarded $3,000 in two payments during the first and second years.

Sam walton scholarship:
The one-time $3,000 award is paid at the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year.
Funds will be applied to undergraduate studies at a U.S. Dept. of Education accredited institution.
(Military academies are not approved institutions.)
Funds may be applied to tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2011-2012
academic year.

so can you guys tell me whether it would be fine for me to demand these things from my college? How should I go about securing the money from my bursar account?

Thanks!
R.H.
