Using Score Choice

I know Cornell says to send in everything and they will only take the best scores for consideration, but say for the SATs I improve in every section from my first to my second sitting, should I just send the scores of my second sitting? Will they know I took it twice?

Thanks.

Anyone? I’m sure SOMEONE has used score choice even though Cornell doesn’t allow it

also curious

Isn’t it very likely he got differed because of other weak areas (maybe ECs for instance)?

You have to send all scores.

Okay thanks a lot. I’m going to send everything because I know there’s no point in taking the risk since they only consider your highest scores (and I haven’t bombed anything).

I assure you they really do take into consideration only the highest scores. The first time I took the SATs, I passed out due to my allergy medication during the writing section, and I got a 430 or something. The second time I got a 780 and I was accepted as an ED applicant. So, I don’t know if they check to see if you’ve submitted all your SATs, but I do know that they really do only consider the highest scores, so your safest option is to report all of your scores.

can u take 2 SAT IIS, send ur scores, then take other SAT IIS (for colleges like harvard that need 3 SAT IIS)?

is that illegal ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Your grammar should be illegal.

yea because grammar on an anonymous internet forum counts for something right?

Well, if you’re applying to Harvard…

if i was applying to all 8 ivy league schools and Stanford and MIT it still wouldnt make a difference.

I would assume a correlation between grammar and intelligence as judged by college admissions.
I’ve always found that somebody using more symbols, such as saying “zomg@!!!11 or your repetitive ^^s” has nothing worthwhile to say.

i just want an answer to my question. also i got a 780 on writing so i think i know a thing or 2 about grammar:

can u take 2 SAT IIS, send ur scores, then take other SAT IIS (for colleges like harvard that need 3 SAT IIS)? because cornell wouldnt see that 3rd SAT II but i didnt use score choice, i just took the test AFTER i sent my scores to cornell.

no one cares about grammar online as long as you can understand the point

THE SAT DOES NOT TEST INTELLIGENCE!! I know incredibly smart people who struggle on the SATs. A 780 in writing means you are good at taking the SAT writing section, and that is all.

^^I’m sure that’s fine. Cornell will never know.

It really does not matter what you get on writing because from what I hear Cornell doesn’t even look at it.

thank you cookiemonster for answering my question. i was nervous the collegebaord would some how let cornell know about the third test, but with all the applicants and score reports i guess that’s pretty far fetched.
