Using sophomore year's(or junior, senior) scholarship to repay previous loan?

As my last thread "tuition flexibility" said, I may get in-state tuition for the second year of college. And in my sophomore year, I may applied some more scholarship( I heard public U provided substantial scholarships for other than freshman) and federal financial aid, which may exceed the number of my in-state tuition.

AND the question is, if I pay tuition by loan in freshman year, can I use sophomore year's scholarships and financial aid to repay the loan?

P.s:I appreciate that all of you are so warmhearted to read my thread, and I hope you can also help me with the last thread " tuition flexibility".

Not sure where you heard public universities provide a lot of scholarship money to students after freshman year because that is not generally true. You can qualify for some scholarship money sophomore year or after at UIUC in a number of programs if your grades are high but even then don’t expect huge amount – a lot of such grants at UIUC are in the $1,000 to $2,000 range for the year. All scholarship money is applied to your bill for tuition and fees for the year in which the scholarship is awarded. You are not actually given any cash you can just use to pay other bills such as a prior year’s loan.
