DD is in 7th grade, took the upper level SSAT for 8th graders in January 2018 to see what she needed to work on by herself during the year.
Is it okay to use this result for 2019 applications? Just trying to save money since the result was 99%.
I didn’t pay for a copy of her essay because we assumed that she would prep for the real test in December 2018, but DD says her essay was fine with some Flavia De Luce aspects to the story.
Wowza, 99%, makes me feel bad about myself :P, I think this is something you have to talk to separate prep schools about. I personally took the test 3 times using my best scores as my “official one” which my schools appreciated, it all depends however as I took my first one in 7th aswell.
I don’t think you’re allowed to use SSAT’s from the previous academic year in your application.
Thanks for replying, we didn’t want to spend another $120+ and take off a Saturday, but I think we may have to. Dd thinks she’ll do worse because there will be pressure. I’m going to call a couple of schools too.
Don’t worry, your daughter will do great, what schools are she applying to? For Andover, their average is 93 percent which is the highest among all the prep schools in the nation.99 percent is enough, but you can’t use it since it is too early.
And I must sound like a parent, I am not, I am an eighth grader and applied to those schools
I’m happy to get feedback from all age groups.
Maybe she will apply to boarding schools though none of us here know anything about them, so mainly for local schools and SOHS.
Thank you for posting this question! My question is similar: I am wait listed this year, with my SSAT from last fall.
I just received my SAT score. I believe some of the schools accept SAT when 10th/11th grades applying.
Question: would you think I should send the SAT score this year for admission (moving off wait list)? and could I use the SAT to re-apply for 9th grade next year?
Question 2: does any one know where to find the average SAT scores for graduating seniors at the top schools?
Question 3: does any of the school publish the SAT score range of their newly admitted 10th/11th grade students?
Most all schools I applied to said that my 1/2017 score would be considered extra (it was upper level) but could nit be the only score I submitted.
@Heading2HS, Boarding School Review has #2, but may not be completely accurate…
