So, for AP CompSci does anybody know if we are allowed to use stuff outside the java subset (ie. switch statements and do-whiles) for the free responses? I tried looking on the CB website but couldn't find anything.

I would be willing to bet a lot of money you’re allowed to use do while and switch statements on the free response. However I don’tk now for sure.

Yes, absolutely! You’ll be able to answer all questions without any knowledge outside of the AP Java subset, but you won’t be penalized for doing so.

Back in September my teacher covered this question. I can’t recall the exact source of that information, but I know it’s somewhere in the APCS course description. So if you want to confirm that, here you go: <a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board; :)

I used stuff outside the java subset and got a 5 so you’ll be fine ^^
