Using the same essay for several schools? PROBLEMO

I have a pretty decent (who are you) kind of essay which also happens to talk about how I got interested in journalism (my intended major).
I have already submitted the Common App. with this essay (topic of my choice).
However, I just noticed (yes, I am a procrastinator) that Boston Univ. asks for an essay about how you chose your intended major:

The PROMPT reads: We would like to know, in no more than 500 words, what experiences have led you to select your professional field and objective. Complete only if you are applying to Sargent College, the School of Education, the College of Engineering, the College of Communication, the School of Hospitality Administration, the School of Management, or any of the accelerated programs.

Any advice on what I should do? The essay I submitted to Common App. I think is good (I didn't procrastinate as much, lol), better than something I could whip up today for their 1/3 deadline.

Question #2: I am having the same dilemma with Univ. of IL-UC. They ask for 2 shorter essays, once again though, I feel like my general essay fits for both prompts, which are:

PROFESSIONAL ESSAY: In an essay of no more than 300 words, tell us more about your professional and intellectual aspirations and prior personal experiences relevant to your choice of a specific college or academic program at the University of Illinois.

PERSONAL ESSAY: The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks a diverse and exciting community of students. In an essay of no more than 300 words, tell us more about yourself, describing interests and accomplishments which are not indicated elsewhere on this application.

The MADNESS of it all! (I would really prefer not to have to write anymore essays...lol)

ADVICE por favor!

BUMP, BUMp, BUmp, Bump....!

If anyone would like to see this general essay which I talk about above, in order to see what I am talking about, please feel free to PM me or leave an email address. ;)

SIGH bump BUMP bump BUMP

I am in the same boat -- don't want to write any more essays!

Sounds like the essay you wrote for the common app will definitely work for BU.

Also, your common app essay will work for the first essay for Univ. IL. You will probably have to write a new essay for essay No. 2

the prob. is that BU is getting my Common app. essay, so i can't use the same essay for their supplement, or can I?

Their office is closed and their admissions email is broken :(

Sorry, I didn't know BU uses the common application. I don't know what to tell you.

worldshopper- thanks anyways!
i guess it's my own fault for being a procrastinator :/ hehe
Good luck to you!

You are not the only one! I have an essay to write that is due tomorrow. It's the famous "diversity" essay and I am having trouble just starting it. Hang in there, you are in good company.

They read both essays.. so just expand on the first essay... but try not to repeat too much ..... I had the same problem... with another school... in the end I had a pretty decent essay (better than my common app essay).. that would have worked for the common app... but it had fractions of every essay I had written for the supplements of all my schools.... lesson learned: dont wait until the last minute!
