using twin sheets on a twin XL bed

If I buy a fitted sheet for a twin bed that has weirdly deep pockets (17") do you think I'll be able to make them fit the XL bed? Is the bed just longer than a regular twin, or is wider as well (and by how much)? I found these really nice sheets at NM but obviously they don't carry twin XL...

They're like 6 inches longer than a normal twin so you really need twin xl sheets.

hmm. do u think I could buy an extra flat sheet instead of a fitted and just tuck the extra fabric on the sides under the mattress?

Sure, but it won't want to stay tucked in! If you know how to sew, you could miter the corners and add elastic....

Maybe check NM on line? But really, there are some VERY nice XL sheets out there. BB&B, alone, has them in all kinds of fabrics, including a textile made from Beech trees (I think that's right) that is extremely silky, soft, and breathable.

Wait - why is it obvious that NM is devoid of XL sheets? :)

yayyy i bought beech sheets myself :)

i'm pretty excited about them.

mafool - only problem with beech sheets is...the bed bugs are termites.

^^^there's always a down side...

beech sheets eh? Oh well, my cotton ones will last me for a long time.
