For the Honors Section of the common app, some of the awards I've listed (such as the NCTE Achievement in Writing Award) aren't especially well known. I have room for a shortened URL in the title, so I'm wondering if I should include a link to the award's website or to an article about my winning it. Is this a good idea?

Links to local press articles about awards are generally not recommended for applications. But, a link to the award website explaining the award can be helpful. You can’t be sure admissions counselors will click through a link, though.

Alternatively, and more likely that the adcom will read it, you can include a sentence in the Additional Information section explaining what the award is.

Thanks for replying, niceday; I was worried no one was going to! Have a nice day!
