Sorry I see that the 10th is a Thursday. Also see on the Academy website that the match will be webcast. If interested you will be able to watch the action this Thursday.

Hey. That's great. I'm really glad they are doing this.
And especially thankful that someone brought it up in the forum. I'd have missed it.
Thanks for sharing the info!

I don't know how the team will do against Coast Guard. But if they continue to recruit like they have the last two years they are going to start scaring some Division I teams.

My son is a nominee hoping to receive an appointment for the class of 2012. We will be going to the wrestling match thursday night, and he will do an overnight visit. Looking forward to touring the campus, taking in the academy experience and seeing Coach Alger's wrestlers do battle against a rival academy.

Good luck to your son. Just give us a shout if you have any questions. The majority of folks on this board will give you good advise and try to address any concerns that may come up :)

The wrestling team moved up three spots to 18th in the latest national poll released by the NWCA earlier today.
The United States Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team moved up three spots to 18th in the latest national poll released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association earlier today. Furthermore, Eric Vincent ranks 10th in the country at 197 pounds.

USMMA most recently won three dual meets in Florida on Dec. 30. The team defeated John Carroll, now ranked 22nd nationally, by a count of 34-13. After delivering a 41-5 blow to Case Western, the Mariners edged then-No. 15 Cornell by a score of 20-18.

The Mariners will be back in action on Thursday when they host Coast Guard at the James Liebertz Gymnasium. The dual match slated for 7 p.m. is also scheduled to be web cast for fans who can't make it to Kings Point.

Nope. No sound. Hope it sounds better than it looks. The white team (USCGA?) seemed to be dominating...at least at the beginning. Mind you though, I know NOTHING about wrestling!
