I haven't been able to access the main website or the candidate website for several days. Anyone else having problems with this?

Yes, I have had the same problem. Perhaps it is due to all of the parents trying to find pictures of Recognition! :)

Too much Crisco in the Cisco?

Or flour on the server. :D

Was the Crisco sold by Sysco?

Maybe they are updating the system...filling the old plebe spots.

I hope so....

Way to go 2011, great pics you guys are awesome!

(oh yeah, and cograts to the parents too, I know you are proud of your mids)

OOPS Guess that is a Great Job 2010.....sorry

You all will make our nation proud...

LOL 2011....hopefully our kids will do as well as the class of 2010 and we can say congrats about the same time ((((or earlier?????)))) to them.

majmattmason, if you are still experiencing problems with the USMMA website, try getting your Internet Service Provider ("ISP") to delete the old entries for the Academy in their Domain Name Server ("DNS"). Apparently, this solves the problem which is caused by the affected DNS not picking up the new IP addresses for the Academy from the DNS to which they are connected. When the Academy made IP address changes over the weekend, small groups of users across the country with this ISP/DNS problem were affected. Most users did not experience any problems, nor can the problem be solved at the Academy's end.

I hope this helps!

Translation into English:the rubber band broke and the mouse died. :D

^^^^^^^^^^^
And I thought medical and legal speak was bad, wow, haha :)

Bossf51 and kp2001, believe it or not, that was the condensed, simplified version. Here's the long version from Howard Weiner who is in charge of the USMMA computer department:

"We've received reports that the recent IP address changes made by the Academy over the weekend have adversely affected small groups of users across the country. The problem is not the Academy's nor is there anything we can do about it.

"Each user experiencing this problem has to contact the ISP who is providing Internet access. The ISPs involved are experiencing Domain Name Server (DNS) problems. For some reason, the affected DNS are not picking up the new IP addresses for the Academy from the DNS to which they are connected.

"In all cases, if the ISPs delete the old entries for the Academy in their DNS, the problem will be resolved."

pretty much a copout from a CIO (speaking as one)

IP addresses change all the time - no reason an end user should have to call an ISP. Worse case scenario - just wait a day or two. It should clean up by itself as new requests are made.

Well I've been trying to have my "ISP delete the old entries for the Academy in their DNS", but no luck. As the tech support gal read from her manual she finally realized that she had no clue what to do, so she just hung up on me. It's really frustrating trying to get something like this taken care of since I'm really not the one responsible to make sure that somebody else's website works online.

Thanks for the help. BTW, I'm with AT&T (nee BellSouth), if that answers any questions for those others who are having the same issues. Any other ISP's affected with this malady?

It's just these two sites (that I'm aware of) that are not working at this point: www.usmma.edu AND https://info.usmma.edu/webcandlog.htm.

actually, most (if not all) folks are probably having issues connecting. It should clear itself in the next day or two -see my above post.

My guess is that if the IT dept of the school had the initial response of "call your ISP..." then they probably don't have anything worthwhile on the website ;) frustrating, yes, but there are worse things...

mine's working fine

I am with comcast and no problem with the first site...but i cannot access the second link that you sent. What is the link? Check and make sure it is typed correctly.
good luck

majmattson...sorry, that last message was for you...and yes I can access the sencond link now...how soon I forgot that link...time sure flies. I used to live at that site a year ago...again good luck

I have had great trouble in emailing my Mid the last 3 days. Have attempted 4x to send a message and it has consistently been kicked back as "Undeliverable Mail". This only occurred since Monday night. In fact my Mid emailed me with the news that the Academy was closed this morning and I couldn't get a reply through to him. Has anybody else experienced this phenomena and does anybody have any solutions? Thank you
