USNA Help

Hi,
So I’m applying to the Naval Academy right now. Could someone possibly give me a rough estimate about what my chances are? Also, I have heard that the Naval Academy likes legacies, but how much weight does that pull? My dad graduated from the Naval Academy.

Academics:
GPA- 4.44
Class Rank- 11/400
ACT-30
New SAT-1310
I’ve been taking AP classes, I took two AP classes last year and I will be taking four my senior year
I took 4 years of Latin
I take band and made district band my junior year as well

Extracurricular:
Chemistry Club
Class President all four years of high school
Environmental Club
International Club
Jazz Band
Mag Frat (community service club) Vice-President
Marching Band Section Leader
Mission Trip (2014, 2015)
Math Honor Society
National Honor Society President
Student Ambassador
Vacation Bible School Leader

Sports:
4 year Varsity swimmer - 8th in the state in my best event, all conference team, and scholar athlete
Rowing - 8th grade (JV), 9th grade(V), and 10th grade(V) - qualified for a national race my freshman year
Tennis- Varsity 10th grade and 11th grade- qualified for the conference tournament in doubles and got sportsmanship award
Summer swim team- broke two relay club records, divisional and all-star swimmer
Summer tennis league

I would say that you’re looking pretty good. Try and take the SAT and ACT again. Your scores are good, but I always tell candidates to shoot for 31+ and 700+ on each section. You should qualify for a Presidential nomination with your father’s service unless he just did the 5 and dive. He needs 8 years of active service for you to qualify. You should be competitive for a congressional nomination as well, unless you live in NOVA or San Diego.
