He has already accepted appointment and now I think my son got his packet today to sign up. Anybody else? He is not home to open the big envelope.

Yep, my daughter got hers yesterday. If it wasn't real before...

:)

Haha yeah I got mine today. Its kinda overwhelming the amount of paper work they send you, but its exciting. I got the 6:30 reporting time, earliest as it gets...looks like i'm getting up early

You will soon come to learn that the Navy floats on PAPER! ;)

Got mine today. Reporting at 0700.

GO NAVY!

Yep--my son's came today -- he reports at 6:30 -- is it even light out then ??? But he'll be there!

6:30am here for us too!!

My mid has to report at 9:15 a.m. How early should we go over?

Well, the line to get into alumni hall (thats the building you will report at) will be HUGE...all the way down the street..so as long as you get in the line some where around your time, you will be fine... they just give you those times so that you all dont show up at once..so its a littel staggered..i can honestly say that I day was the worst day of plebe summer...its very overwhelming and stuff...but hey at least you know that every day after that wont be as hard as that one...

7:00 am for me!

I know I've read it before somewhere on here, but I was still a little unsure- part of the paperwork says that although everything needed is provided, it's recommended to bring certain things such as shirts, socks, underware, etc. Should I bring that stuff or not? I am planning on bringing my running shoes, however.

hey guys-

I report at 9:00 am anyone else?

OHHHHHHH NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOO!

What happened to Sacramento!

Son reports 9am. Some of the paperwork apparently must be brought to I Day.

swillz...talking to last year's plebes and parents, they insist that LESS is MORE. You are issued 70 pounds of gear to cart around ON YOUR OWN on I-Day. What we are going to do is only send our kiddo with literally the clothes on her back and her paperwork when she walks in, wearing the running shoes she intends on using. Packed at home waiting for her personal address ( which in the permit to report says we won't get until I-Day...so we've already discussed that no matter what come I-Day's 5 minute call home that afternoon....we MUST get that first out of her) will be everything essential we can fit into a shoebox...esp. girl stuff....that she will need immediately and pray her Company commander will get it to her ASAP upon arrival. If other families have other ideas, I'm all ears.

ok well, yes you are issued like 70 lbs of stuff, and it SUCKS to carry around cuz its huge and bulky, but also in your room when you get to it has these like three really big boxes. one has like books in it, and the other two are like toiletries and stuff...dont worry about the "girl stuff" you get a TON of it issued in those big boxes. other stuff in there inclues like razors shaving cream, soap, shampoo, stuff like that. they also give you like desk supplies like envelopes, pencils, pens, paper, little notebooks, a calendar, so basically a bunch of stuff. i would definitely go with the idea of coming with NOTHING but your shoes and your clothes on your back. I brought all the stuff they suggested, and they took my bag at the like 4th station on I-Day and I didnt see it til PPW. so yeah...dont bring that stuff...its dumb. What i DO suggest bring are YOUR glasses and YOUR contacts. Those they usually allow you to keep in your room, but you cant wear them obviously cuz you have to wear you BCGs. However, if you from some reason your BCG's break, it would be nice to have your own glasses (this happened to me and i went blind for most of plebe summer). Also, when it comes to the shooting range, some companies will allow their plebes to wear their contacts to the range so that they might be able to shoot better. You are just going to have to ask your squad leader the day you find out you are going to the range if you can wear your contacts..some will say no, but alot will say yes. ok wow..sorry ths is long. good luck!

Oh no!! I haven't gotten mine yet and I live in Missouri too!! Grrr I hope it comes tomorrow...the waiting is killing me!

We did not "get the call" until Tuesday. I guess our packet will come that much later? I hope it comes soon....... the door on our mailbox is looking pretty gnarled up........

I got it yesterday, opened it, and just stared at that pile of paperwork. Is there a light? Is there a light? (There is a balm in Gilead.) 0800 for me! A perfect time, in my opinion. :)

Andrew reports at 9:15!!!!

Any ideas on what to do with the automatic payroll slip in the packet, send it or bring it to I day?
