@purpledog354 It’s been a bit since I applied so I’m totally sure how it is but I think something should pop up asking you if you want to submit because you can’t make any changes later. After that, you should receive an automated email saying that they got your submission (The email part I know for sure because I found mine in my inbox).
If it won’t go through I’m not too sure what you should do besides trying a different browser and maybe emailing or calling the people in charge of the program.
@greetings12 Thank you, I just got it done. How long did you wait for a reply from USNA?
@purpledog354 I got a response pretty fast, or at least faster than expected (I’m not really sure how long most people wait). I applied Feb. 29 and received an email saying I was accepted March 8 so just a little over a week.
@greetings12 Okay well my SAT is 1930 and I’m not really sure how that’ll play out since I’m also from MD and it’ll be harder for me
We are located in Sarasota. Has anyone in this area heard whether or not they were accepted to NASS 2016? A woman in admissions told me they do it according to location.
They do do it with respect to location. Remember that NASS is a recruiting tool to allow kids who might not hve an interest a chance to see what USNA is about. If you live in a very competitive area that gets a lot of apps to USNA, you might have a tougher time getting into NASS
I applied anyway but I’m pretty sure I don’t have a chance because I’m from MDand got a 1930 SAT which is below average
If you don’t mind me asking, could you inbox me your free response? I’m curious as to what a prime example, such as yours, would look like @greetings12
I sent my application the first week and still have not heard anything about an acceptance or decline. I am from the Houston, Texas area. Anyone from this region heard anything?
I got my acceptance today; I am from california.
just as a note to anyone who hasnt done act/sat do not freak out!
i only had my 1500/1520 psat for them to go by.
messege me if you are in session 3 (:
Hey everyone. I’m from MD and got waitlisted. How likely is it that I’m ACTUALLY going to be able to go? I doubt so many people would drop out and have me go…
I know they consider geographic location, ethnicity and gender. They need it to be diverse and balanced. Just curious, if you don’t mind saying, are any of you pasty white dudes?
@gonavy2021 I am haha and was accepted. I declined, but I feel like the criteria for acceptance into NASS are different than those for admission to the Academy itself. Definitely don’t get down if you don’t get in for the summer.
For those who were accepted,
When do we open up our application account/portal?
I was accepted 3 weeks ago and I am from DC and my stats were 3.8UW GPA and like a 1200 PSAT but I also am a volunteer firefighter/EMT which helped a lot
Accepted about a week ago for Session 1.
From NJ
Session two from SoCal. Two other people from my school are going but they’re both in session three ._.
@beepybeetle Session Two for me as well. South Carolina (SoCar? Ha) just under Charlotte, NC. Two people from my school will be attending as well, one of whom will be in the same session as me.
I was honestly surprised that I got into USNA’s and not West Point’s. I applied the last possible day for USNA’s (and talked about my Army legacy, not Navy!)
I’m not in ROTC unlike the other two people who got accepted.
Stats:
GPA 3.8 (4.0 scale), taking 2 APs at time of applying, 2 already taken
ACT 32
Sport Varsity Lacrosse
The Extras that I put on my application: Model UN (mentioned that I won awards,) Volunteer & Interpreter for mission trip to Honduras, Organized my own returning trip bringing supplies and teaching English for second summer, fluency in Spanish and French with lower levels in PT, IT, Mandarin, and Louisiana Creole, Latin American Coalition volunteer, I think I mentioned playing instruments as well
But no ROTC. I wonder how much that affects actual entry to USNA. Does anyone know, by the way?
@gonavy2021 Pasty white dude race wise but I’m a minority ethnicity? I wonder what that does for me.
@CajunRouge Nice man. I applied for nass the week after they opened applications and got my letter of acceptance a week and half later. Forgot about west point, applied in mid-march, got denied lol.
My stats:
[QUOTE=""]
ranked 23 out of 767 kids, weighted GPA is a 4.5 out of 5, don’t know what my unweighted is right now
took 2 APs last year, got 5 on both, just took 4 more AP Classes/Tests, know I’m not getting 4 5s (thanks AP Physics :’) )
Was on tennis JV team as a Varsity sub as a sophomore, dropped because AP Chem man
34 on ACT (miracles happen I guess) 2170 on sat
