Hi my daughter received an acceptance today for the USNA Summer STEM program and I have some question.
How much of the program is spent doing intensive physical workouts?
Can I trust that there will be an escort at the airport when she gets there? This will be her first time traveling alone.
What's the financial aid process like? Will they take special circumstances into consideration? We never qualify for need based aid, but our family is currently facing a health crisis.
It appears that intramural sports are scheduled almost every day.
The website says "Students who fly will be met by a midshipman at their arrival date and be escorted to the baggage claim area and Naval Academy buses."
The website doesn't say anything about financial aid; I'd email a coordinator.
Hey guys, I just found out about this forum, and I found out I got into the Summer STEM Program 4 days ago as a rising sophomore! I’m extremely happy I got in because last year I did not get accepted. I am a male from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and I can’t wait to see some of you guys there!
I just received the dreaded rejection letter. Congrats to those who were accepted. My letter says they had over 4800 applications and only accepted 640. Maybe next year.
we got rejected yesterday. we are a rising 11th grader and did Stem pre 8th grade. Not sure if prior Stem hurts admission. Top student attending Private Prep school regularly considered in in national polls. 3.98 unw. / lax player ect… Not sure of how the USNA evaluates-
We will attend STEM program at Franklin Olin College of Engineering-any info on OLIN?I
^^ Who is running the program at Olin? The school probably just rents out space during the summer, and the program may not have anything to do with the school. You can find out more about Olin on its thread here:
