USNA waiver waiting game

wvdad---Congratulations!!! As the father of a future plebe I know how proud you are!!!

Thanks 3106, wow, talk about adding an extended family! Really hard to comprehend at this point.

wvdad, congratulations.....Now you can all have a great weekend.

wvdad: all good things come to those that wait!!! Congrats to your daughter- and to you too!!! T-89 days 'till the Class of 2010 arrives!!!

HA! So glad I stopped cleaning this stupid house & took a break to come in here & check. That is AWESOME! Forget the sleep. You don't need it anyhow. LOL The feeling you're having right now is gonna stick around a while so enjoy! Burn those phone lines up telling all the family! Congrats. I think it is officially merlot-thirty! This gives me reason to quit & celebrate! ;) YAY for WVDad's daughter!!

JM: just think- we get to turn the clocks ahead this weekend- so your merlot-thirty will now come an hour earlier!!!! (hey- I wonder if Bill realizes today is FRIDAY and not monday!!!! LOL!!!)

Oh my, talk about cleaning house! Jamzmom I'm sitting in a room with every conceivable flat surface covered with financial aid forms, admissions forms, tax returns, dead food wrappers..... I'll be back, can't take it! Where's the shop vac & shredder!

Lighter fluid and a match will do the trick. ;)

Okay, now it's setting in. Just received a phone call from Congressman Mollohan's office stating Sis has OFFICIALLY been extended an appointment to the USNA. The letter will be going out next Tuesday!

Well, Zap, what were we saying about the parents? Here it is, I'm accepting the phone call and pulling my hair out and SHE's off watching a track meet, in the rain no less!

I bumped a thread I think you may want to (re)read. ;)

Congratulations WVDad! You are SO right. You are joining a wonderful extended family that will help you more than you can know over Plebe Summer and the roller coaster ride that you will experience over the next four years. A couple of years ago I was so impressed with the wonderful people that we met at I-Day. Those from the Academy, Alumni Association and Parents Clubs were incredibly supportive and many have become good friends. Hopefully, I will meet many of you on I-Day as I have volunteered to help out with the activities of the Alumni Association. Many of the parents for the Class of 2010 will become your close friends as you will learn that only other USNA parents will understand what you are going through. Best of luck and see you on June 28!

wvdad....with your daughter's appointment in hand, you can join we parents for our planned get-together in August, following Plebe Parent's weekend...we figure after dropping them off on Sunday the 13th..we'll all be ready for a few hugs/cries/smiles/photos of proud Plebe parents.
Send me an email to peskemom@yahoo.com to join our group.

And "praise God from whom all blessings flow!"

I think I'll be able to hear your daughter's cheers all the way across the country!

That is just the best of you peskemom to plan this together. And knowing USNAMom will be around too will be so great. Crack some crabs up there and get extra napkins for tears. It really is great to have academy pals that you can talk to & compare notes through the upcoming year. What one person doesn't know, the other generally does, so it is an amazing network. WVDad, enjoy your new "family"!

I'm in peskemom! As mentioned earlier (this thread?) I normally don'y use email at home much... THAT will be changing!

Now I've got to get the daughter signed onto the site so she can access all the info. She's just laying in her room right now, no music (a first!), TV off, just laying there. I asked her if it seems real yet and she emphatically said NO!

Hey, excuse me a while, I need to make hotel res. for Aug!

Yeehaw! Congrats to your daughter! And welcome to the bubble wrap club, Dad...

Thanks heartcross. We have been on the phone all morning. We also have many "thank you" letters to get out. And yes, NOW the key is to get them to I-Day in ONE PIECE!

Any chance we could just lock them in a room for the next 87 days, 11 hours, 12 min and 42, 41 40 ...seconds.

I learned I got DQ'd on 3/24/06. I recived a LOA on 2/22/06. I have two nominations to the academy. As of yet there have been no new Remedial requests via mail or the DoDMERB website.
My DoDMERB site reads
R250.10 - Pending waiver review by USNA
plus the DQ code and the non-rebuttable code.

My Questions:
How long does the USNA Waiver process take?
How will they let me know if I have a waiver or not?
Is there any hope for me this late in the game?
Thanks for your help

XCSkiingWarrior - have you been in touch with your Regional Director? I know April 15 is the last traditional day letters are sent. But our RD said it could be up until I-Day given type of waiver, those turning down appts., etc.

We STILL have (just in case of injury, God forbid) three back up schools until signing on I-Day.

Good luck and we'll keep you in our prayers.
