Can anyone help me out here? USNA is my top choice, but I'm worried about my GPA.
What criteria do they generally look at for admission?

Thanks!

Thanks. I have looked at that page and it says "No Specific GPA is required..." However, I know how hard it is to get in. Can anyone give me what a general GPA is?

Just check out the verbal and math scores and you might get an idea. At the Summer Seminar, my squad leader had around a 32 or 34 on the ACT. He made very decent grades. Of course, there were plenty of other midshipmen who had come from NAPS (http://www.naps.edu/).

GPA matters very little. Class rank and standarized testing matter more to the academy.

wjat if my school doesnt do a class ranking?

then they ask your guidance c to give a rough estimate. Top 5%, 10% ect

A general GPA is one that is superior to all other GPAs.

lol, well, i guess thats kind of helpful....

Does anyone know what happens if your school does not rank, because I'm going to be going to a new school my senior year and in order to receive a class rank you must be there for mimimum of four semesters? In all other aspects the Academy is looking for I am superior. Thanks
GO NAVY BEAT ARMY

If you are "superior" in all other aspects, then class rank probably won't matter.

You could enter your overall GPA with an asterisk that equivocates the score to your current or past school, i.e. my GPA is 42.65 and top 5% at current school is 43.18.

My gpa is 3.8 weighted, that good?

Depends what your ACT/SAT Math and Critical Reading scores are. Are they aligned??

Also depends on the others in your Congressional District/State who are also applying. That is your immediate competition. Unless you get a Letter Of Assurance, you are vying for the single slot your Congressional Representative and each US Senator is allowed to fill (3 in total).

Good Luck,
