USNEW Rankings & UG Business Programs

Well, I suppose there is more to choosing a school than perceived ability to place me into a job that i'm not even 50% sure i want to pursue four years from now.

You NYU kids are nuts. There really is more to college than career placement if you look closely...

Anyways, don't bother to reply to this, because I've decided to retire from these boards for awhile. I've been getting too caught up in these marginal differences between schools that I've forgotten how fortunate I am to be attending one of the nation's most beloved, selective universities (how silly of me!). Good luck to all you guys in school, and I hope you make a boatload of dough in your IB careers (unless you crap your pants during the long-awaited interview)!

That's right Indie. I am glad you understand that there is no real difference between the top schools. You will do great at Notre Dame and have the time of your life doing it.

Best of luck to you.

Finally someone stands up to those damn NYU freaks.......

no one from NYU here ever said that they're goin there just for career placement....your just making it obvious that you wished you chose some other school over ND lol, and now you're getting defensive about your choice...

I don't think we're the obnoxious ones on the IB/Business major threads, a bunch of other people are, who I'm not going to name....

I'm applying for finance, which do you think is a better choice, university of chicago or university of michigan? is illinois any good?

Check out the relatively new Kellogg undergrad certificate programs:
Kellogg School Certificate Program for Undergraduates - Kellogg School of Management - Northwestern University

Tough pre-reqs make the admission very self-selecting. This program is not a "business minor" or "business light". All the courses cover the same materials as those in the MBA sessions. Their first course is decribed here:
Turbo Finance, Finance Department

umm i dont think chicago has a ug b school

would it make a lot of difference if i graduated with a degree in economics as opposed to a degree in finance? i mean in terms of job prospects

anyone wanna rank the following?

Carnegie Mellon
Wake Forest
Boston College
Villanova
Richmond
Indiana

UChicago econ will open up many doors, and employers will not question your quantitative skills.

UChicago's awesome, but I've heard it has a monetarist swing

Alright, thanks guys. Btw, jckund, what course are you applying for? because the rankings will vary according to the course of study. However, Carnegie Mellon is a standout among that list.

finance...

Carnegie Mellon, 2. Boston... not sure about the rest but definitely ranked below these two

My business school is nowhere in those rankings and I am completely fine with it. And my life is not over.
