^^^You are correct i always get UNC and duke mixed up for some reason but UNC is on there so just forget i said duke :).

^lol

byu is at 35 because thats where it belongs.

rankings are mostly a joke. us news is decent cuz of the specialties section

i know, if u look at the old b-school rankings, those looks more accurate, i guess the private schools try whatever to up their ranks when they don’t deserve the spot

[1997 Top Undergraduate Business Programs: USNews - edu](1997 Top Undergraduate Business Programs: USNews - edu)

lol compare that now

^^^HAHA ROFL asu and arizona on any academic list. us news is smart to include prestige in the rankings because in teh business world thats what gets you a job.

i went to wharton=job

i went to wustl (IT was ranked #12 in the country!!!)= what school? no job

^^i dont even think they have a biz school…but it fits the idea

BYU is 31…

Cal-Haas & UMich-Ross in the top four – quick someone alert Hawkette about UNDERgrad rankings! :D

yeah where the hell is BC and georgetown…

i don’t like both usnews and businessweek’s rankings, let’s make our own!

“U.S. News surveyed deans and senior faculty at each undergraduate business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Business school deans and faculty (two at each business program) were surveyed in spring 2008… 38 percent of those surveyed responded.”

I agree US News should include recruiter survey like they do with the graduate ranking.

The BusinessWeek ranking also relied heavyly on surveys:
"The centerpiece of our ranking is a survey of about 77,000 graduating seniors at the 123 eligible programs… Overall, 20,628 students completed our survey, a response rate of 26.7%… In addition to surveying students, BusinessWeek polled 466 corporate recruiters for companies that hire thousands of business majors each year… 245 recruiters responded, a response rate of about 53%… The student survey counted for 30% of the final ranking, with the recruiter survey contributing 20%.

Student survey tends to be biased as only graduating business seniors were polled.

I like business weeks ranking better as well.

surveys dont make much sense to me, how would a student/professor going to one college be able to say their program is better than another college that they didn’t go to?

anyone with access to the complete with, would you be able to post it? thanks!

Having taken the BW student survey, the questions they ask make sense. First year salary. Where will you apply for grad school. How did you like your classes/profs etc.

there aren’t really too many business schools at the undergrad level. most kids do economics.

uchicago is number 1 in economics. hands down.
wharton for pure business.

theres actually a lot of schools, i would say most, which have udnergrad business

I am definently biased, but for those that like business weekly, do you really think Virginia and Notre Dame have better bschools than wharton?

Probably not but its close. The edge goes to them because Wharton isn’t a fun place to be, and neither is Penn for undergrad in general.

^ Says who? Certainly not Penn undergrads (nor anyone who really knows about the school).

No, the only reason Wharton was overtaken was because it refused to cooperate with BW, UPenn said they could rank them, but wouldnt help by supplying with names . So kids from UVA and Notre Dame had a better chance to rank their schools higher. BW still got some kids from Wharton but not nearly as much as the others. If Wharton participated then it would probably have been number 1.

It is close, but I think that it is reasonable.
The USWNR does not have Wake Forest top 20, which is odd. We have a great dean who is making changes to our school and our accountancy program is the best in the country.

Actually the surveys hurt Wake Forest in the Business Week, because our program is very rigorous so many students complained about that.
