Columbia is apparently no8 now, one up from last year and no longer duking (pun intended) it out with dartmouth and chicago. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=379939

I don't believe those rankings are real...don't they come out on the 17th?

Thats what i thought, but they seem real enough and everyone is going along with it so i thought, "eh, why not".

let another "columbia vs penn" ****ing match begin.

and, man, Brown's gone down a ways hasn't it? I mean, I don't think these rankings are very good tools for students' college searches (or for employers' reputations, or academic research...), but it does carry a lot of public weight.

Im actually starting to think this list is bullshyt. Things just dont seem right, like where is ut-austin? Idk, maybe its real, but i guess we'll find out soon enough.

more than likely nonsense, just read the thread that it was posted under, at least 10 solid reasons why the leak is not credible.

Yeah, anyone remember when that other 2008 ranking said that Columbia dropped to number 10? I'm not going to believe it till I see it.

I saw one with Columbia dropping to #10.
I saw another with putting Columbia at a solid 6, ahead of Penn and Duke.
I saw another one putting Columbia and Duke together as 8.

I think of all these, despite the fact that to me it's clear that Columbia > Penn has a University, the last one with Columbia at 8 is the most accurate prediction of what the rankings will be this year.

read post by svalbardlutefisk on page three of the discussion, that should clear doubts that this isn't real
