Yes, top 75. I'm doing this because I'm bored. And, it's coming out in like 10 days.

If:
1) you're going to complain about how rankings don't matter, just don't post please.
2) you're going to say school X is better than A,B and C, carry the conversation elsewhere please.

Just want to see what everyone thinks about the rankings.

I know the new methodology isn't out yet, but I like arbitrarily ranking schools, just like US News, so I guess it makes no difference:

Okay, these two things contradict each other, just sayin’. How in the world do you rank schools without implicitly saying that school A is better or worse (or the same as) school B? If you don’t make any relative claim between the object ranked, then the ranking is meaningless and doesn’t matter. If the ranking matters, then you’re claiming that there’s a difference between schools of different ranks. Pick one.

Of course, if we’re mapping random or pseudo-random numbers to universities for the hell of it, then I’m all for it :D.

For 2, I meant that people shouldn’t have those random arguments on here. You know, the ones that last 5 pages, and talk about the graduate level prestige of school X.

I feel like there will be little change in the top 25. I do think UCSB, UCD, and UCI will all move up, dispite budget cuts. Reputation, retention, research, and selectivity continue to improve. These schools are research power houses and retention has also improved.

It’s crazy how competetive the UC’s have become…there are just too many students in Cali!

The same matrix that results in Penn ranking over Brown should result in Cornell ranking over Penn, IMHO. But, I’m one of those people who thinks it doesn’t matter.
