USNWR 2016 Predictions

Well – I will say, seeing Chicago at 22 or Columbia at 19 would at least cause me to examine the methodology. (which, admittedly, should be done for all rankings…)

I guess one cannot validly throw away an entire ranking as worthless until he or she studies and understands the formula.

Olin should be removed as well.

Think about it this way. Schools in or near large metropolitan areas (with the exception apparently of Penn), will often have access to professors who are experts or leaders in their respective fields. Universities are happy to hire such individuals, but they are not necessarily full time professors. This could help explain the relatively low rankings of Columbia and Chicago, as well as the possibility that having to take the core means that some students who change fields etc. might take longer than 4 years to graduate.

Sacre Bleu!

UF isn’t in the top 25!?! UF must have used the “actual” data instead of my recommended “corrected” data in the CDS. Using my (patent pending) algorithm, UF’s freshman retention rate is 102%…

^ At UF, average SAT is 2300 and 4-year grad rate is 92%!

Again, 170 posts later,

Subtracting Wake Forest, Lehigh and William and Mary,

Carleton
Franklin and Marshall
Babson and
Skidmore

Are next in line… .

Also, College Factual uses the stats for 2013 which USNews used for their rankings last year!

Relax…you’re all pretty.

Indeed!

The rankings will be released by tonight. For those of you who made predictions, we’ll see how accurate they were.
