USNWR ranks Pomona #6 LAC

<p>Pomona moves up to #6 in today's 2009 USNWR college LAC rankings, tied (again) w Bowdoin.</p>

<p>Other categories Pomona did well in:</p>

<h1>1 LAC for Highest Freshman Retention Rate</h1>

<h1>3 LAC for Best Value</h1>

<h1>3 LAC for Highest Graduation Rate</h1>

<h1>4 LAC for Lowest Acceptance Rate</h1>

<h1>4 LAC for Amount of Need-Based Aid Awarded</h1>

<h1>5 LAC for Least Debt</h1>

<h1>10 LAC for Ethnic Diversity</h1>

<p>I think Pomona suffers from the east coast bias in peer review. I can't see how else it is ranked #6 while Wellesley is permanently ( at least for many years) ensconced at #4 with all stats lower except for peer review.</p>

<p>I usually take these rankings with a grain of salt, and #6 is really good, but still......</p>
