My family missed the deadline of January 20th. Does that mean that the aid we could receive is significantly lower than if we beat the deadline. My parents don't have their W-2's, and all that other stuff yet. I know it says estimate, but, my parents want to be careful.

Colleges that have priority deadline early usually want to evaluate what they've got- what ball park of numbers they have to work with. Your file is not there and won't be processed with early batch. File now with estimates preferably on line- it is fastest way. This way you will be in later batch but still might qualify for all or part of money you should get. Some colleges have very limited amount of certain funds available - even if you qualify for something college might not have it anymore to give and will substitute with more loans.
