USPS is doing a terrible job of delivering my IDOC package!!

My mother received her last W2 form midway through February, so we didn't have everything we needed to send until then. Last Friday I sent the package by Priority Mail to College Board IDOC in Illinois. This is the tracking thus far: http://i.imgur.com/6JF7wQx.png

What do I do!?

You just gotta wait until it gets there or you can send another set overnight mail (additional fee) but mail today it should get there monday (along with the priority mail package).

Hey, you CANNOT send two IDOC packets. Everything else you need to send to colleges but we’re able to submit it through IDOC, MUST be sent to the College Financial Aid offices directly.

That assumes that anything that’s sent . . . is also received. Clearly not the case for the OP.

In 2010, we also had a mailing to IDOC disappear during a major snowstorm. Receipt confirmed by the USPS tracking number never did show online, so we did send a second copy of the package both to IDOC and to one school which requested a direct mailing. We received a confirmation of delivery on the second IDOC package and DS did eventually receive FA packages based on those documents. Never did find out what happened to the first mailing and for a while was a tiny bit concerned that our tax and financial info was floating around out there.

I recommend that you call all of your IDOC schools and ask whether they want the documents sent directly or whether you should resubmit to IDOC.

Now that I’ve looked at your tracking info I agree with sybbie – just wait until early next week because it looks like it might be on track for delivery. If deadlines are your concern, just call the schools to confirm.

I apologize for laughing at your expense but the tracking info is absurd. “Expected Delivery by: February 25”. As of February 25, it had left Missouri for a return trip to California? Now it has ended up in Rhode Island after another stop in Missouri? Perhaps they should raise their rates again in order to afford a map that can get them from California to Illinois without crossing the country two or three times.

I would suggest that you call the Post Office and pitch a fit. The documents include intimate details of your financial life as well as your family’s Social Security Numbers.

Post this tracking record on Facebook – it deserves a wider audience because of its absurdity.
