I really don't mean to be bitter, especially since I had no intention of actually going to Austin in the first place (they don't have my major) but I find this a bit funny: I was accepted to USC, ::Northwestern:: and UW Madison but got rejected by UT. Never knew it was so competitive. Heh. Go figure.

Oh, and applied as a resident but didn't go to HS in Texas. Ranked 10/194. 1400 SATs, 800/800/740 SAT IIs, 3.7 UW GPA.

i got rejected in UT and accepted to UMich, BU, Colby.. though my SAT wasnt great . i got 1360. I have an excellent academic record and great extracurriculars and I thought my UT essays werent so bad either

UT is flooded with top 10% students from Texas cause everyone wants to go there. So therefore if you are not top 10% or not in state then it sucks for you. (Uber competitive).

I only made a 1370 on the SAT, 790 on IIC, 630 (gasp) on Writing, and 680 on Chem. 12/200 3.9 UW. Also, I'm asian and an international (out-of-state). I still got in... I think it's my essay that got me in... (btw, my essay won a regional gold key in Scholastic Arts and Writing competition). So... yea...

i got into the business school at the university of austin with a 1300 sat. and i am an international student.. is it that hard to get in? becuase its overall rank is about 46th...

I don't base the ranks on US news.... That's only in the US perspective and works only in the US. As an international, I like to see the global rank of Universities.

This is from London Times world ranking of Universities around the globe.
