UT Admissions.

Hi, I just applied to UT today, and I was wondering how long on average it takes someone who is not ranked to get into the college. My SAT score is a 2260, with 700 on R and 800 on M. I am in state, and all of my application materials will be in by next week. I have applied to Mccombs school of business

You probably won’t hear anything until the last batch of admissions decisions comes out. It’s usually in mid-to-late February.

What about for a Liberal Arts major decision?

@texangirl505 from a non-ranked high school? I think the only applicants who receive early admission decisions are students that UT accepts. If you have a strong application, you may hear from COLA earlier than February. Good luck.

So if I don’t hear back until Feb. then I probably didn’t get in?

@texangirl505 I was an unranked COLA applicant, and heard back in early February (earlier than the main admission wave).

@tardisgirl17 when did you submit your application

@tardisgirl17 I have a 3.9/4.0 unweighted gpa, but I am unranked. My school is really competitive

@texangirl505 I submitted my application in the last week of November.
@ajayjay8 I bet that gpa will help your application!

@texangirl505
There are many students who don’t hear back until February who do get in. My son is a UT senior this year. His application was complete on the day it opened, August 1. He heard back in February. Hang in there until then! Hook 'Em!

Nope, it means nothing if you don’t hear back! If you’re a very strong candidate, you might hear earlier that you’re accepted. But no news means nothing…just no news! And for everyone stressing about your GPA, don’t! UT doesn’t even consider it in admissions decisions. Your class rank (if you have one) and test scores are important, along with your essays, ECs, etc. Spend your time writing excellent essays and don’t bother worrying. (I know, easier said than done!) Hook 'em!
