Hello, I got an email about scholarships from UT Arlington and it says that students admitted before February 13th, 2015 and who meet the criteria are automatically awarded the highest scholarship for which they are eligible. The criteria for the top scholarship is 1300 SAT/29 ACT and Top 10% or 3.5 GPA for $8,000 dollars per year. I have a 1640 SAT score and ~3.4 GPA. Am I eligible for the 8,000 dollars a year or is the ~.1 point strictly enforced? The next scholarship is 1200 SAT/26ACT and 3.2 GPA for 6,000 dollars per year. I was also wondering about the CAP program. I might attend UT Arlington solely because of this great scholarship, but I really want to attend the University of Texas at Austin. How does the CAP program work with UT Arlington? Would I go there for a year and then transfer to to UT Austin for my sophomore-senior years? I’ve looked up some stuff about the CAP program but it is very foggy to me. It is my dream to attend UT Austin, however. And if I attend UT Arlington for just one year and then transfer to UT Austin, would I still receive the scholarship for attending UT Arlington for the first year? Also, if you have any knowledge about the Pre-Med programs and Science majors from either school I would love to hear about it. I’m sorry for the block of text, but thank you for reading.
Also, does UTSA have this type of scholarship for having a certain SAT score and GPA? I’d much rather attend UTSA than UT Arlington simply because I live in San Antonio currently and if I’m able to participate in the CAP program at UTSA it would just be that much easier for me, geographically speaking.
