Takbir, God is great. :)

God be with you all as you wait for your notifications.

Damn, with all you high GPA i think i have no chance…

No worries, kid. Just hang in there.

@ Inmotion12 and Praxismajor- Both of you give me hope because I also have a GED instead of a high school diploma. I was worried that was going to count against me. Congratulations to the both of you!! I hope the waiting ends soon for me too…

We may find out this week!

Alright! Hopefully I’ll find out by Friday!

I have been admitted to my second-choice major in the College Of Liberal Arts

GPA 4.0
Private New England Liberal Arts College
31 credits, 49 credits after this semester
Combat Veteran

I’m assuming I didn’t get First Choice School of Architecture unless they are still deciding.

are you guys finding out online or in the mail?

It seems like UT is admitting all the higher GPAs first. Maybe they’re starting at 4.0 and going down?

Now that I hear that COLA is sending out responses already I am getting nervous ! Plus my 3.79 is not looking very impressive anymore… I hope me being a veteran and single mom will help me

I got an email from UT-Austin about my Financial Aid Packet. I thought it was weird that they are reviewing financial aid packet without a decision notice. So I checked the online application status and there it was my acceptance into second college choice.

Does anyone know if they give out decisions if first choice is still deciding or did first choice school pass up on me? Thanks

@ieatmaps I have no clue if your first choice was passed up or if they are still deciding … I did get an email saying they are reviewing my financial aid but I went and checked my status and it is still “under review” … Think I should call admissions? Or just wait and see? The suspense is killing me !

ieatmaps: Call admissions tomorrow to verify.

Congratulations to Inmotion12 (told you dude, haha), praxismajor, GodricGryffindor, and ieatmaps! I was hoping I’d find out soon since I have a 4.0, BUT I applied to McCombs…darn competitiveness…Good luck to everyone!!!

ieatmaps, I wouldn’t immediately assume that you didn’t get into architecture. It’s something you really need to call the admissions office about.

Thank you Ozzy, Praxis, and everyone else.

Glitzy, high school records are not considered for transfer admission, i.e., your high school grades don’t matter, so don’t give it a second thought.

Jammy, I’m really pulling for you. A 4.0 is literally the best you could do, but McCombs is crazy competitive. I do think you’ll get in. Economics was your second choice right?

Sarajojo, we are finding out online.

@Inmotion12 what does the application status check say when you’ve been accepted? Just curious, in case I don’t get to see it for myself! :-/

Inmotion, yeah Economics is my second choice. Honestly, I wouldn’t be too disappointed about not getting into McCombs (though I would be at least a bit, because it’s my first choice) but Economics is interesting, and a good back up for me. We’ll just have to wait and see! Thanks for the support Inmotion, hopefully we’ll be seeing each other at UT :)

CHANCE ME!
I currently go to UTSA and I am trying to get in for the fall 2011 after finishing my 30 hours. By the end of this semester I should have between a 3.46/3.54 and I am applying to COLA. Do you think I will be in???

You’ll probably get in futurelonghorn. Not a 100% yes though.

rgalvanan, this is what mine says:

Congratulations! You have been admitted to your first-choice major in the College Of Liberal Arts ( Economics ) at UT Austin. Discover what to do next to begin your Longhorn experience.

Has anyone heard of anyone getting denied from COLA with a 3.5? I’m so nervous!!!
