UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

haha, Yeah rgalvanatx I am the same, Luckily I have a check book which we rarely use but have just in case. I was thinking the exact same thing everyone but UT takes Visa
Cool hope I can see yall there. Thanks Kat ill check out the other thread.

Has anybody got accepted yet with below a 3.5?

Is it possible that having too many hours will work against me?
(iā€™ll have 73 at the end of the semester) I plan on entering McCombs as a junior.

Still havenā€™t been notified of a decision. Although last night the status changed to ā€œwe are currently reviewing your applicationā€¦ā€ (about time!)

Futurelonghornā€“I got into Communications with a 3.5. It was actually a 3.48 but admissions told me 3.5, so I guess they rounded up. But I also have a professional background as a writer so I think my essays and work experience gave me a huge boost. I also had some pretty spectacular recommendations. I donā€™t think my GPA alone would have gotten me accepted. Good luck!!

Rgalvanatx- okay! Thank you. I will have anywhere from a 3.45-3.55 and I applied to cola! Hopefully that will be good enough.

Iā€™m sure you will be fine. COLA was my second choice and admissions told me that 3.5 is very competitive for that school. :)

Oh okay! That is good to know. Well congrats on getting in:)

Thank you!!!

@ futurelonghorn - Iā€™m sure youā€™ll be fine if you have strong essays. I got into COLA with a 3.29.

@blazingflash - You got into economics right? Did you send in any rec letters or any other special stuff?

@blazingflash- Wow that is awesome! Where did you transfer from and did you have any other special stuff that helped get you in?

yup i got into Economics, and I didnā€™t really have anything outside of what was required. My essays were very strong and I had a pretty good resume with a good amount of ECs. I transferred from UT-Arlington with a few credits from a local community college.

I think what helped me the most was my GPA trend. My freshman year I did badly the first semester but worked harder my second semester to raise my GPA. Last semester, the first of my sophomore year, I did very well. I think that UT noticed this trend and thats why I got in.

that is good to know blazingflash! Well congratulations :)

Futurelonghour92 - I got in with a 3.3-3.4. o: I didnā€™t get into my first choice (computer science) but I got in as undeclared. You should be fine if you donā€™t have insanely competitive fields.

Been waiting weeks to post this next line. ACCEPTED!! Cockrell ! Second choice civil but Iā€™m not complaining! 3.5 gpaā€¦ Hang in there everyone!!

Lindsiria- Did you get in to undeclared COLA or Natural Sciences?

lindsiria- I applied to COLA undeclared!

COLA was my second choice, and i have a 3.7 GPA, and iā€™m still waiting to hear ANYTHINGā€¦

This might sound like a stupid question but I applied for College of Natural Sciences for pre-pharmacy. I got my acceptance letter ā€œYou have been accepted to College of Natural Sciencesā€ yada yada. Is it automatically assumed that Iā€™m in pre-pharm? Everyone keeps posting ā€œYou have been accepted into Liberal Arts (Economics)ā€ or the school and their major. I was just wondering is it assumed I got my major, pre-pharm because I got accepted into Natural Sciences?

Also, does anyone know of any (cheap) apartments near the campus? Iā€™m looking for a 1 bedroom and coming from Houston, I hate that I canā€™t easily go look at apartments. :/
