I’m a freshman at UTSA right now, wanting to transfer to COLA next fall for Economics. My GPA is currently at 3.9, I have two recommendations, essays and I’ll have completed 30 hours by the end of this Spring semester.

Can I still apply for Fall 2012? Even if my credit hours won’t reach 30 until after the deadline… Also, how do I know which credits are transferable? Is there an online catalog or something. And does it matter at all that I’m not in CAP? Thanks to whoever can help out.

1) Current College: Central Texas College ( And a semester at Texas State)
2) Current GPA: 3.67

First Choice: BSPsych
Second Choice: BAPsych
Courses Completed: 35 hours, almost completely core curriculum and additional psychology classes (but no more than six hours)
Extracurricular: I was involved in Varsity swimming all through high school, as well as drama club. I was in student council my senior year, and the AP Bio club vice president. I work full time, currently with children with special needs. My goal is to be a pediatric occupational therapist. I also have over 1,000 volunteer hours at my local community theatre. I have acting awards, as well as numerous swimming accomplishments. I’m a certified lifeguard and swim instructor- my main duties with the children I work with now is swimming lessons, and acting as a technician in the pool.

I had a kick ass letter from my boss, because she’s a DPT, and I’m looking into going into occupational therapy. So, the fact that she owns a clinic for pediatrics really helped my application overall. I had experience in the field I want to study, and my essays also followed that path.

Congrats, gabbybelzer! good to see oos got into UT!! Have anyone heard decisions from
CNS? I have changed the status(in reviewing) from few days already lol

Aslo, best wish to every successful spring transfer student!

gabbybelzer, special congrats and welcome to the Longhorn community! You have posted here so long, it is great to see your dream of coming to UT come true. Hook 'em!

gabbybelzer -Im so happy for you!!! If anyone deserves this, would be you. You have stayed motivated, and passionate about what you want. Now Miss Longhorn: time to do some WORK! Longhorn. That was the easy part (lets get busy) enjoy orientation :) Work of advice; choose classes wisely for your first semester, and good luck.

Okay, so I’m noticing that people are hearing back from COLA. What do you think my chances are if I still haven’t heard anything I’m applying for BApsych, 2nd choice Education with a 3.2 GPA…do you think if I haven’t heard anything it’s cause I didn’t get accepted?!

Congrats to everyone who got accepted, esp you Gabby I know you want it, you deserve it!!!

Spring…for those former accepted transfers…can I get some advice on a pressing matter of where should I live? What is the best way for me to adjust( aka going about making friends and such)

I thought I’d join the waiting party going on here.

I’m applying to CNS hoping to major in Nutritional Sciences. GPA is 3.33 because of a D I made in Biology last semester (I know, I know). However, right now I go to a pretty highly ranked school, and otherwise have been doing well (As and Bs). I did very well in high school, and was accepted into UT when I applied as a freshman undergrad because of the top ten percent rule (I’m a Texas resident). Other than that, I feel like my essays were decent, and I’ve already been accepted into A&M.

Basically, I know my chances aren’t very good, and there are a lot more deserving people out there (seriously, you guys are so impressive!), but I’m still very nervous and have been going crazy over the last month waiting! Best of luck to you all- as I said, you are all incredibly talented and hardworking, and you definitely deserve to get into UT!
