Since admissions are coming to the end for the 2016/2017 thread I thought we should make a new one
^
I am applying for the Spring 2018 semester. I have completed 39 hours and I have a 4.0 gpa. I am applying for CNS with a major in Nutrition for my first choice and Kinesiology and Health in the College of Education as my second. What are my chances of getting in? I am also submitting 2 LORs.
I’m applying for Spring 2018 with 33 hours, 4.0 from a community college, no ECs from college as I just graduated from high school and no clubs meet in the summer so all my ECs are from high school, and 2 LORs. My first choice is Sustainability Studies and second choice Geography both in COLA. Good luck everyone!!
@ss123456 depends on what classes you have taken, but if u have taken the classes off the recommended list for UT Austin you should have a good shot!
I am posting the stats of who and who didn’t get from the 2016/2017 transfer year
thanks to @krisstory99

@utcshopeful I have taken the recommended 9 hours of math and science courses off the CNS website. However, I have not taken calculus but other than that I meet all of the other requirements. Thanks!
Good luck to those who will began stressing in this page in about 8 months!
If I have dual credit from high school will it be factored into my GPA? I got a B in english 1301 so I’m not sure if I’ll need to make that up with all A’s during my first year of college.
@bds0220 I believe it does get factored into your GPA from previous threads I have read!
I got accepted with an appeal to be considered at Government, in liberal arts!
I’ve applied for the Spring semester of 2018 and the major I chose was Human Dimensions of Organizations. This degree was recently created by the Liberal Arts school by UT. I have a 3.83 gpa with 31 transferable credit hours, but this new degree kinda gives me concerned on whether i could find a decent job after college and be marketable towards employers. I really love the campus of UT and i plan on using this school resources to the fullest if I was to get accepted. However, Texas Tech accepted me too and I would be majoring in their business administration and would focus in information technology. Going to Tech would give me a degree that is more focused and may have a easier time finding a job while Human Dimensions of Organizations would just give me a broad view of things but with that degree from UT i am planning on taking business classes at UT anyway so I can round out my degree better and have those business skills under my belt while trying to get in at least two internships before i graduate so I can round out my degree from UT and be marketable. Would it be better to get the business administration in IT from Tech or follow other option I gave if I was to be accepted into UT? The jobs in IT pay well but I don’t know if that is something I want to do while UT human dimensions gives a broader view but more flexible options. I just don’t like the fact that it’s a liberal arts degree and people always tell me that liberal arts degrees are iffy. I didn’t want to apply to McCoombs externally either as the prerequisites would take me forever to finish at my community college. I’m also not ruling out an internal transfer if I was to get accepted into UT. btw I’m in State
@Gotenks16 I can’t tell which one to choose because that’s for you to decide, but what I can say is that internal transferring into Mccombs will be extremely hard, so if you go down that route get ready for it, but its definitely do able.
Update. I’ve decided to stay at my community college. I’m just going to hunker down and take the prerequisites that McCoombs need such as the micro and micro Econ as well as the business math courses they needed. The end goal has always been UT so why settle and go to Tech? We’ll see what happens in these next couple of years and because of my decision I’m just going to withdraw my application I sent for UT for spring 2018 that was for liberal arts.
Hello Everyone! I have been reading these transfer posts for awhile now.
I’ll be submitting my application for the fall 2018 semester this year.
These are my stats as of now:
GPA: 4.0
Hours: 29 (currently taking 29, but spring semester will finish with 42)
Major: Environmental Science and Natural Resources
Out of State Transfer: Oklahoma
LORs: 3, (two professors, one my manager)
Essays: 2 that I’m currently working on
ECC: full time worker at CHUYS (based out of Austin), leader of the “Butterfly gardens” wayward stations campus wide, and many summer internships have been offered to me this upcoming year for the US wildlife Services, and Crosstimbers Survival Programs, and the Denali Park program.
Other: GED and international graduate, lived in Mexico for 8 years (since i was 15 hints the international high school diploma and GED diploma), bilingual, Caucasian
What do you guys think the possibilities are that I get accepted next fall? I’ve heard it is VERY difficult to get in transferring from out of state. I am, however, a Texas resident. I still have a Texas License. Does that help me at all?How competitive is it to get into UT’s environmental science program? I’m so nervous… fingers crossed I keep my 4.0.
@ThinkGreenUT Hello! You are correct, it is extremely difficult to transfer OOS but that is for Out of state residents. If you are a resident of Texas, you are still considered in state and therefore qualify as in state. I believe this is right but I am not positive!
Hey everyone.
I will be applying to UT - McCombs (Business) and CNS (Sciences) for the Fall 2018 Semester.
My Stats at the planned time of transfer are included below:
GPA: 3.84 (4.0 aside from two c’s I made in high school history dual-credit classes in 2014)
Hours: ~75
Major: 1st Choice McCombs MIS, 2nd Choice CNS Computer Science
Prerequisite/Recommended Coursework: I will have almost, if not everything for McCombs, and roughly about 75% of the CNS coursework completed.
Location: In-state transfer (ACC)
LORs: 5 Total -> Micro/Macro-economics Prof., Fin. Accounting Prof., Man. Accounting Prof., Calc II Prof., Computer Science Prof.
Essays: I will be submitting two!
ECC: Professional Accounting Students Club Member, 3 years of experience in virtual goods/cryptocurrency exchange and online customer relations (self-employed), 100+ Volunteer hours
try to get the gpa up to a 3.9
Hello Everyone!
I’m an international student at Houston Community College. I’m an Asian. My current GPA is about 3.64 (4.0 in Math and Science courses.) Is there any chances that I could be accepted for UT Austin’s CS?
