@utcshopeful I’m still debating on which would be first or second choice between Physics and Computer Science. I’m really passionate for both subjects but seeing as how crazy competitive Computer Science gets when it comes to transferring, it makes me believe that it’s probably best if I don’t put that as a first choice. I plan on putting physics as the first choice and CS as the second, or maybe even Mathematics as the second, since I’m also passionate about that subject. I’m not usually the kind of person that would look for workarounds to make it easier to get accepted into a school, but I feel like the scene at UT is a great place to make connections relating to Computer Programming, and besides, I really love Physics as well.So in short, the plan right now is:
For all of those who got accepted for the spring, under your Registration Info Sheet for Registration Bars, does it say that youre lacking a final college transcript? I sent my final one in on 12/23 but because of holidays it has not been processed. Is anyone else having this problem?
@Tylergary2 yea that’s dumb considering they’re the only school in the entire nation that requires calculus for my major. Any other school and it wouldn’t be a problem, but oh well.
@Tbk225, if you’re taking the prerequisites next semester, that works too. They only require an affirmation that you will be done with the prerequisites before enrolling at UT.
Hey everyone! I’m applying to COLA for the upcoming fall to major in Poly Sci. I have a 3.8 GPA, 33 credit hours, extensive resume, with tons of volunteer, 4 LOR, and 2 strong essays. Could anyone chance me?
Hey all! Talked to admissions today and they said that they hold all the Fall 2018 transfer requests until March 1. Thought they’d do it simultaneously with the new freshman but I guess they use a different timetable
Hi,
I’m currently enrolled at UT Dallas and I’m applying to transfer into UT Austin Biology major for the Fall 2018 semester.
Could anyone chance me?
International student from Korea (Texas resident though, so I chose the US Application form.)
Applying with 43 credits (58 after spring 2018)
1st choice CNS, Biology BS
2nd choice COLA, Psychology BS
3.72 GPA
No LOR
OK Resume (AIME qualification, Math All State 1st place from high school, and 2017 Fall Dean’s List from college)
400+ Volunteer hrs (200+ clinical volunteer hrs)
OK Essays
Prerequisites: I’ve taken Differential Calc, Statistics, Gen Chem I, Gen Chem II, Physics I, Physics II, and Bio II.
I’m a bit worried that incompletion of the calculus sequence might hurt my chance of admission. Instead of integral calc, I took statistics. Also, can anyone clarify what 1st year math and science courses are?
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone- I’m currently enrolled at Texas State as a sophomore thanks to AP credits. I’m looking to transfer to COLA for Government this summer and my current gpa is a 3.41 (hoping to get that bumped to a 3.6 this semester). I’ve been involved in the concert band here at TX State and I’m getting involved with mock UN and a political group. Could somebody please chance me?
@acc2ut I talked to the admins office last month. He said that if you have 24 units, they start reviewing your application on March 1 and you should probably hear starting April. If you need the spring semester to reach your 24 units, they won’t look at your application until your updated transcript comes in (may?)
Hello everyone. Past transfer threads have included lists of all the applicants, so I have decided to start a fall 2018 transfer list to keep track of everyone’s stats and decisions. I will tag everyone who has previously posted in this thread so that they will see this post so they can correct me with any information (or provide me with their credit hours) and remember to notify me of their acceptance or rejection come decision time. After, I will no longer tag you when I repost the list.
If you wish to be added to the list, let me know
