Hey there, I submitted my application to UT on Tuesday September 29th and they received it within 2 hours. They also processed my documents very quickly and earlier tonight it said your application is complete and about an hour later it said it was in review. Do you think there is any chance I will receive a decision within the coming weeks or months? I am not an auto admit, and it seems like everything is moving pretty fast with UT thus year.
@UTgrad95, wow! That is some fast moving admissions work! How exciting for you! Hopefully, this is an indicator of how quickly things will move this fall. My son’s app was submitted August 28th and was quickly complete and put into review as well. Come join us over on the University of Texas at Austin Class of 2025 Admissions/Discussions/Decisions page and we can hang out together while we wait. A couple of students have already gotten in over there so that is exciting to hear as we wait.
Hi there! My son is also awaiting decision for UT Austin. Been several weeks
Not an auto admit.
I have a strong feeling that you’ll get a decision update this weekend because priority applicants (which you are based on what you said) are notified by February 1st. Good luck!
I hope so. I’m waiting for my friends to get admitted and seeing the anxiety levels of my best friend is making me anxious for her. She was telling me how she wakes up randomly in the middle of the night from panic attacks that she will get deferred or rejected from UT. And how her mind is always occupied because she’s refreshing her mystatus portal 24/7. We legit planned and envisioned to roommate together at the Castilian. She makes me check reddit every night in hopes that a wave came out so I can notify her. I got my decision much earlier than hers but we expected it to be the other way around becuase of her amazing stats. For mental clarity I hope they come out at least this Friday at the latest. I know that UT doesn’t do rolling and that the waves are a courtisey, but all the randomness is rlly helping no one
To ease concern, I’ve noticed they are typically Friday after 5pm or so. There is no set time but it certainly after school
Hours and not always instant for some (technology isn’t perfect). Sending positive vibes your best friends way! No matter what, I hope things work out for her.
do you guys possibly think that the december 10th wave was the only non-auto wave… an estimation of 3,800-4,000 offers (texadmissions estimate) is super low… ut may be releasing rejections, cap, and pace next…
I think it is possible, but I sure hope there are more non-AA admissions coming. I think that the AAs finding out they didn’t get their requested majors (in the most recent “wave”) may mean the next wave is non-AAs finding out they didn’t make the cut. I’m still keeping some hope, though.
I’m an international student (IB student) who applied to Mccombs for RD, the December 15 deadline but I have not heard back since then… Will I be rejected? cuz I feel like lots of other ppl have already got their decision and been admitted
My son is currently an Electrical & Computer Engineering major at Rowan University. He has a full tuition merit scholarship His High School GPA is 3.93; 1450 SAT; 3 5’s on his AP Physics & Cal exams and currently has a 3.87 at Rowan. He wants to transfer to a more challenging program and stumbled upon University of Texas. Since their transfer rate is low, I was wondering if it’s even worth spending the $85 application fee. I am trying to convince him to stay at Rowan (for FREE) and once he obtains his Bachelor’s then spend the money for a school like this for his Graduate degree–any thoughts?
