UT Austin admission question!

okay so i’m currently a junior in a public high school in Texas right now and i’m thinking about being homeschooled for the rest of my junior and senior year due to something that happened in my life recently. Will that affect my chances of getting into UT? I was in the Top 6% of my class both my freshman and sophomore years so I already can qualify for automatic acceptance since automatic acceptance at UT for the class of 2017 is the top 8%. Would going into homeschooling change that since there is no class rank for homeschoolers? Or would they take my rank from my freshman and sophomore years and accept me? Thank you.

They use your rank at the end of your Junior year for auto admit. Therefore they don’t look at where you were ranked in fresh or Soph years.

I don’t know how /if they calculate a rank for homeschoolers - I’d call UT admissions to ask.

Is there a particularly reason to go homeschooling? Obviously it is not a learning ability issue. You probably want to do DE while remain in the school system.

You don’t get autoadmission as a homeschooler. https://www.thsc.org/2014/10/thsc-takes-on-the-texas-longhorns/
