My chances of getting into UT Austin is pretty high but I am apply for the December 1st deadline instead of the priority. Is that going to lower my chances?
@Ritu2420 No. It will not lower your chances. Here is a response from another thread that sums it up nicely.
“There is no early admission at UT. UT sends out the first round of letters indicating acceptance to your major in November to a few students who UT really desires. In order to be considered for that round you need to have your application in by November 1st or the priority date.”
UT is rolling admission, so UT will takes some spots by December 1st
@edsmart UT is not rolling admissions.
@ComplexX i believe it’s rolling for non auto applicants

@edsmart Its not rolling. UT acceptes the applicants which they most desire first. Meaning, someone who applied August 1 can be admitted on February while someone who applied in October can hear back in November because hes a strong candidate. Rolling admission means they accept as applications come. If it were rolling, those who apply in August should be the first to hear, which is not always the case.
I’ve been told by 2 of my counselors that it does in fact look better to apply priority. I also spoke with a UT rep who seemed more keen with the idea of one applying priority than not.
Will it genuinely make or break your admission? Most likely not. If you’re a strong applicant, you should be fine (Of course, the program matters).
yo I just got into ut, and I applied on august 17th. maybe it helps, maybe not. but its definitely nice knowing early so you can stop worrying and pressuring yourself.
@Thelma2 thank you!
are you from out of state or an auto admit?
@oakland818 are you out of state?

Hello guys. I am an international student applying to McCombs undergrad. I have sent my SAT score to UT Austin on the 5th of dec and it’s 24th today and still my status shows that I haven’t sent SAT score. @GHolmes suggest you follow the class of 2022 thread, that’s where everyone posts if they hear anything.
