UT Austin CAP program for biology

I have been offered the CAP program for UT Austin. I plan on accepting, but after reading certain discussions on it, I am not sure. I understand that you can only get automatic admission after one year into the Liberal arts program, but I am planning on majoring in biology. How hard would it be for me to accept the CAP and get into the school of natural sciences after one year? Am I bettered off accepting at another four year university? Or should I call admissions and ask for more specific details? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

@kmc1234 If you have any questions or doubts, you should speak to the person in charge of the program. https://admissions.utexas.edu/enroll/cap

CNS isn’t too hard to get into through CAP as long as you aren’t trying for CS. I had a few CAP friends get into CNS

@JackM82 I was offered CAP as well and have been a bit hesitant since reading that we’ll be given admission to the Liberal Arts college. I was planning on majoring in computer science through CNS. Just wondering why would that be harder? Is it just because it’s a competitive major?

@sabrinuhh CS is a very competitive major, mainly because UT has a limited faculty for this major and because it is also one of our highest ranked majors. It’s not impossible to transfer into CS, I knew someone who did, but having said that it is very difficult. I’ve heard of people with 4.0’s getting rejected from CS.
