UT Austin CAP program or University of Houston?

I have recently been CAP’d and don’t know what to do… I was going to go into clinical psychology and the CAP program guarantees me a place at the liberal arts college in UT AUS as long as I complete its requirements. However, is it worth it? Is the 3.2 GAP achievable? I currently have a 3.8 in high school. Or should I just go to UH? I live close and it also has one of the best psych programs in Texas…

even on the UT website for CAP it says that if another college is offering you direct admission to go to that college rather than through CAP… I would say go to UH…

It’s definitely achievable. I don’t see any additional benefit of going to UT over UH, especially since UH is close to home. If you’re planning to go into clinical psychology, no one is going to care where you went for your bachelors degree.

I say go to UofH and knock it out the park. You then either stay at UofH or do a straight transfer to UT.

UofH and transfer to UT-A if you decide you don’t like UofH after 1 year.

Go to UH undergrad and apply to UT for grad school … that way you can be a Coog-Longhorn. You’re gonna need an advanced degree to be taken seriously in clinical psychology and UT offers advanced degrees in that field I think.
