I applied to UT Austin (1st choice: biochemistry; 2nd choice: economics) in September and some of my friends who are in the top 5% have already been admitted. I know my rank isn't particularly competitive for UT but I am pretty sure I will at least receive the CAP offer. My grades show improvement as my freshman year was less than mediocre.

Questions:
If anyone has been accepted into UT Austin being outside the top 10% please speak now and give me some peace of mind as to when you did get your letter. The suspense is killing me right now so I would like to know if I have any realistic chance of being accepted as a regular admit. If the CAP is my only chance of getting to my dream school, what school should I attend? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
