@SenkakuLichen if you have any question about your application, I recommend that you contact the Admissions office. They can advise you if your transcript is acceptable. You don’t want to wonder later if your application was denied because of something you could have corrected. Better safe than sorry!
Can anyone chance me? I am applying Liberal arts honors and Jewish Studies in the college of liberal arts.
3.548 uw gpa (high school does not rank)
34 ACT
OOS (New york)
@YungBaby2342 what is wrong with you, don’t you think they are nervous enough without you beating them down? @G_span your ACT is really good and your GPA looks good, I think you’ll be fine for Liberal Arts
@G_span While the ACT is high, your GPA seems low for UT OOS. UT might wonder why your ACT and GPA don’t match up since your ACT is so much higher compared to your GPA. I think if you get in it probably won’t be honors.
I was just accepted last week and I don’t have extraordinary stats:
OOS Applicant
3.7 UW, 4.1 W GPA
29 ACT
Class rank: 37/416
National Honor Society, job, some extracurriculars
I did feel like I wrote phenomenal essays though and showed my interest by visiting. They look at more than just your numbers.
@strezz Bless you ! Congrats ! What’s your major and which state ?
My D’s stats are similar to yours. Also NHS. Still waiting… but now a flicker of hope from you.
Can you chance me?
GPA: 3.87/4.00
Rank: 39/545
SAT I: 740(M) 690® Essay: 17/24
@HTownNative - is that your exact rank sent at the end of your Junior year?
What major?
Hey y’all I’m a Freshman Government major from nyc who goes to UT Austin, first of all if you want to live on campus be sure to apply early! I waited too long to apply and now I live off campus. Second of all when you come here be sure to actually go to all the activities and events that occur on campus for the first few weeks. If y’all have any questions please message me! #HookEm
Do most of the admissions decisions come out on Fridays? Trying to figure out which day of the week to check the most
@BreadedPrincess The November group was on the 18th which was a Friday. Last year one group came on Jan 21 which was a Thursday.
The wait seems absolutely eternal! Even though I know the next “wave” isn’t due until mid December, that doesn’t seem to stop me from checking my portal every day! 8-| Does UT offer any type of priority registration once admitted?
Not sure what you mean by priority registration? For classes? In March, you will sign up for your new student orientation. Those start in early June and last through late July with one last session in late August. You’ll be advised during that conference and register for classes on the last day. Is that what you mean @ehsstudent17
@gettingschooled For A&M University, Honors students get priority registration which lets them get first pick of classes every semester. I know UT is also a huge school so I was wondering if they offered anything like that
@ehsstudent17 during registration there are certain classes that are restricted to just honor students. Also each student has a cluster number he or she will obtain during orientation, these hold your place in 1 or 2 classes dependent on the major. Other than that registration is just a chaotic process lol.
@EmpirestateDad Pre-Athletic training (going for Exercise Science) from Louisiana. It’s in the college of Education which seems to be less competitive.
@strezz Congrats again !
If I applied October 9th, should I expect to hear back in December?
@G_span There is really no way to know when you will hear back. The only thing certain is that you will hear by March 1st. Good luck!
@G_span Anytime between now and end of Feb. I asked its random not FIFO the way they are reviewing apps.
