UT Austin Class of 2021 Thread

Hello all!

I recently applied to the University of Texas at Austin and wanted to know the likelihood of getting accepted. My first major is Civil Engineering and second is CNS, undeclared. Here are my numbers:

SAT: 1420 (Math 770, Reading 650)
GPA: 3.91 (unweighted)
Class Rank: 16%
(Texas Resident)

Extracurricular:
-130 hours of community service
-Science Olympiad
-Math Olympiad
-Varsity Soccer
-Student Council
-Junior World Affair Council
-College Readiness and Leadership Program

Thank you!

People be dropping 1400+ SATs and I’m here celebrating that I made it past 1300. To make matters worse, I’m an engineering applicant. *sits and cries in corner of the imminent rejection table * :((

u wont get in with that attitude ! ! … @AngelFoxtrot

Just got accepted to Plan II and BME in state

I was wondering if anyone knows when Engineering Honors and scholarships will start going out?

@Cubano123 Do you mind to share if you are an auto admit? What is your class rank?

Sure. I’m 2/457 and am an auto-admit. @texasee

Anyone have any idea when non-autos get results if submitted by priority deadline (10/17)? Based on previous years?

@cubano123 Nice! congrats! I heard BME cutoff is 3% for auto admission.

Some non-auto admits have heard already. It seems like they are sending results based on strength of the app.

What’s the 10/17 priority date that I see mentioned here? Is that for in-state non auto admits? My son applied OOS and we never came across a priority date.

The only priority deadline I’ve seen is for BHP.

When are decisions typically released? I know it says by March 1 but will the majority of the people hear back soon?

The majority of people will get a decision in late Feb.

I am a nonauto admit and I submitted my application before October 15 to McCombs. However, I did not apply for BHP, but only the “Business Unspecified” major. Because I didn’t apply to BHP as well, does that mean that I won’t find out until March 1 instead of the priority dates?

No. It does not mean that. But most non-autos find out about their majors in late Feb. Many, many autos do too.

My Status changed today from “Complete” to “in review” Does it mean any thing? How long after “in review” do they give out a decision? I am in top 7% of my class so should be auto admit. Thanks

Usually until mid to late February since most people receive decisions until then.

So “in review” has no significance then? bummer!

yeah mine’s been in review for as long as i can remember, and i submitted before priority deadline. but i’m not auto, so idk :-S

Where are you guys seeing “Complete” or “In Review”?
