Any international applicant to cockreal school…
@Penny4UrThoughts When did you apply?
@Larysa My S applied on 8/19 and his application was complete on 9/8. We are pleasantly surprised that he made it into Cockrell because his class rank is just out of the top 10% (maybe 11%) and I was always told that it needs to be close to top 5% for UT engineering – glad that’s not true! He goes to an unranking high school here in TX. His ACT was 34 (36 STEM score). His UW GPA is a 4.0, weighted is around 4.3 (and no, that’s not top 10% at his school!). After senior year, he’ll have taken 12 AP courses incl. Calc BC, Physics C, etc. He also submitted SAT II for Math II (770) and Physics (750). Hope that helps and good luck to everyone!
@wvuhopeful --Congrats to your son!
Same stats here and …waiting, waiting.
Will there be a December wave of college of Liberal Arts for OOS applicants?
Accidentally double commented lol
@tobeymaguire I applied on 10/13!
I checked mystatus this morning and I got in. I applied just a few days before the Dec 1 deadline. I am OOS for CNS.
My OOS daughter was accepted yesterday to CNS! We had checked status in am and for grins one more time around 6pm as someone on here said they usually aren’t posted until 430pm. There it was!!
Anyone been accepted as a biochemistry major, either auto or non admit?
Is submitting financial documents necessary for austin to get accepted ?
Those are are reporting accepted today: was it that you didn’t check yesterday or is there any chance the portal is updated on weekends?
I see a lot of CNS acceptances today… they wouldn’t run out of room right? I applied early August and it seems they are accepting those who have amazing scores and GPA’s right now. Mine are subpar (3.97 and 30) but my essays, recs, and ECs are through the roof. Does anyone know if UT is willing to look passed the numbers?
@ballet13 I probably just didn’t check yesterday when it updated.
@BreadedPrincess I think your ACT is fine for CNS but you should note that UT cares more about your rank than your GPA.
For comparison in admissions timing:
DS, auto admit, was accepted yesterday late afternoon for ECE. He has a 35 ACT and SAT Math 2 of 800.
Older brother was accepted a few years ago, also for ECE but, he had to wait until February. He had ACT of 32 (with a math sub score of 35) along with SAT Math 2 of 780. -not an auto admit, but graduated in the top 10%
Both had similar high achieving ECs with engineering interest and leadership etc.
@JAMCAFE I go to an unranking high school with 20 people in my graduating class. How do they calculate my rank? I am number 5 in my grade.
I think they give you an estimated rank. For CNS it will help if you’ve taken calculus.
@BreadedPrincess and all others still waiting you have lots of company. My D is auto admit but waiting on major. There will likely be another wave of decisions mid January.
My daughter was recently accepted and it’s one of her top choices. She won’t hear from her other top choices until March/April. When applying for on campus housing I noticed it says you have to accept admission in order to receive a contract. Does anyone know if you don’t accept until March if you’ll have any chance of getting in a dorm?
