@USUG21 I applied to CNS for computer science on 10/14 as in-state
@VegasMom16 From Houston. 1570 SAT (800M + 770 R/W) and 3.9 UW GPA (school does not rank)
So instate students get early result than internationals…?
I was accepted just now!!! Out of state, computational engineering
ACT: 34C
AP Comp Gov, US Gov, US History, Euro History, Biology, Physics 1, Calculus AB, Calculus BC,
GPA: 4.4W/3.9UW
Rank: 95th percentile
Not much in the way of extracurriculars, leadership in the school band and school political organizations
Work experience: delivery, cashier for around 8 months
Essays: bad. they were subpar at best, so I am totally shocked I got in!
I applied to Tulane, local state colleges, Northeastern, University of Virginia
Good luck to everyone still in the game!
@KC1789 Congratulations! When did you complete your application?
and what state are you from?
I got in Friday. Logged into portal! Good luck everyone!
@kc1789 Congratulations! Did you check yesterday? Just wondering since it’s Sunday.
@USUG21 not necessarily, I’m an in-state auto admit with a 1600 composite SAT (2290 total), and I’m still waiting to hear back from ChemE. It’s a really random process, there’s no use trying to make sense of it
@VegasMom16 @just_nag
Thanks!!
I’m from Kansas, and I completed the application Nov 29th or so — like a couple days before it was due. I have checked every day since I applied, including yesterday, so today (sunday) was definitely when they updated the portal. I think whoever said this isn’t a first in/first out system is correct; I should have been one of the last ones to get a decision if that was correct. Seems highly random how they do this.
When will international students who applied 30/11/16 get their decisions ??
@ad93107 It appears to be random how they release decisions. You will probably hear back mid-January or mid-February.
oh…and what time have these other decisions been coming out ?
Has anyone heard back from College of Liberal Arts OOS yet?
My daughter has been accepted to UT for fall 2017. If UT is her first choice, is there any reason to delay accepting her offer of admission? My worry is that if she tips her hand up front, it may reduce her chances of being offered a scholarship, since she’s already committed to the school. (She applied for the Terry, Texas Advance, and Texas Exes scholarships.) Apologies if this question has already been asked elsewhere, and thanks in advance for your advice!
@RiceUSNADad Yeah I would wait if I were you.
Has anyone heard about honor’s acceptances yet? My daughter was accepted to CNS but hasn’t heard about honor’s program yet.
Will College of Liberal Arts hear next week?
@RiceUSNADad There is no advantage to accepting early that I know of, although I am not sure how it would affect scholarship consideration to accept early, negatively or positively.
will more liberal arts decisions be released this week
If I submit the housing application only after i get admitted…will i still get a place in on-campus housing
