@tennisspieler I just recently asked an admissions counselor about this, and he said there was no difference between the messages.
@BreadedPrincess Thats great to hear! Does your app not say status: complete as well?
@tennisspieler No it doesn’t, but I know its been complete for many months now. We’re all good
@bellabiology99 CNS average ACT acceptance was 30 last year or year before( cant remember which year is up there but it is posted on their website) I think Neuroscience is a particularly difficult major to be accepted into. only 10 percent of admitted students come from out of state or out of country combined. UT accepts 75 percent as auto and another 15 percent from inside the state of Texas.
@ms1316 Contact UT directly; the clearest answer you will get about this will be from them. I hope it goes well and you can still send everything in!
Does anyone know the average ACT acceptance for Liberal Arts?
That’s too bad about merit money. We don’t need it to pay for her college, but she is trying to look at who will offer the best education at the best deal. She’s received a full ride to another college and was accepted to a highly selective school early action. Her dad is a Longhorn and we’ve been visiting the campus since she was a baby. Would be neat to continue the tradition; however, we will have to see how it all shakes out. Thanks everyone for your insight. Things are very different than when her dad and I went to college!
UT is no different than other state schools who seem to offer merit aid only through their flagship programs (40 Acres, Jefferson Scholars, etc.) but otherwise little in merit scholarships.
Just wanted to let you know that my D learned today she was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts - Psychology major (BSPsy) , now waiting for the honors program.
@RAR, was she auto admit or not?
No she was not auto admit. Texas resident
@RAR I think your daughter is the first non-auto admit on this board to get into Liberal Arts. Do you mind sharing some of her stats like GPA and ACT/SAT?
Does anyone know if national titles in sports and clubs has any effect on an application?
@kats1234 I’m sure they take it into consideration
Any body received any decision these days.?.. in some other thread for engineering someone got his acceptance yesterday
@USUG21 That student had already been accepted to UT and was then accepted to the eng. honors program.
@USUG21 do you happen to have the link to the thread?
Does anyone have a prediction on my chances of getting in?
Hispanic/White
ACT: 24 (May Hurt Me)
Rank: 32/235
GPA: 3.47/4.0
Major: Government
My last hope seems to be my resume; I have won the Texas State Championship in speech and debate twice and I was hoping that this would bolster my chances, thus giving me the courage to apply to such a prestigious institution.
Thanks all!
