When I have to watch Indian Cricket team matches, I miss sleep.
Anyone know when 40 Acres Scholarship decisions come out?
D was notified today that she’s a semi-finalist.
Congratulations! How was she notified? By mail or email? Thanks!
@itsgettingreal17 Congratulations! If you don’t mind me asking, did your daughter already get admitted to UT?
Yes.
@itsgettingreal17 what is your D studying?
Does anyone know when honors decisions for CNS will be coming out? D was admitted in December, but hasn’t heard about honors.
Anyone got into McCombs business school yet?
@stillwaiting2021 We are wondering the same thing about McCombs! DD is auto-admit - applied 10/13 still waiting to hear about major!
@stillwaiting2021 My D is accepted into McCombs but BHP denied.
Any ideas on what time the decisions would be released on Friday?
@SLparent can you please share her stats?
Thanks
My daughter is an OOS applicant. She tried to submit her mid-year grades, and her admissions counselor replied saying that no updates can be made to a submitted application. Every other college that she applied to insists that mid-year grades be reported. It seems very strange that UTexas is the only one not interested in such. In theory, an applicant could be making straight Fs as a high school senior. You would think that admissions might want to see how its applicants are handling their senior year coursework before offering an acceptance.
@WWWard My daughter is an OOS applicant too. I’ll have to send an invite via the Document Upload System to her counselor to upload her mid-year transcript in the first week of February. UT does an holistic review of the application, as per the kind lady who picked up the phone at the admissions office yesterday. So submitting the mid-year transcript can only help not hurt.
@EmpirestateDad I agree that submitting a mid-year transcript can only help, especially if it represents excellent grades, but my point was that her UT assigned admissions counselor refused to except it and said that it could not be added to her admissions file.
To quote from her email… “Updated materials cannot be accepted at this time as it is passed our admissions deadline. You will receive an admissions decision no later than March 1. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.”
If those who answer the phone at UT admissions are suggesting otherwise, I cannot explain that. Clearly, you would think that they would want to review such…
Sorry, @WWWard I mistook the UT assigned admissions counselor to be the high school guidance counselor.
Actually, I just checked – this post from 2009 confirms what the UT assigned admissions counselor just told you.

I’ll probably then won’t send a mid-year transcript after all.
@EmpirestateDad Wow… that info from 2009 is even more alarming. OK… well. if that’s their policy… but that certainly makes them the sole exception. In my daughter’s case, 14 out of 15 colleges require it… and only one (UT) refuses to even accept it. Strange. My daughter was anxious to send them her grades. I guess that many may be thankful they can’t lol.
@stillwaiting2021 4.44 Weighted, 4.0 Unweighted, national merit commended, 3 AP’s in Jr. year and 3 in Sr. year, 6 honors classes. SAT 2040 and 2150, 5 SAT subject tests, ACT 33 and 35 (only submitted 35), 1 gold & 2 silvers in national latin exams, NHS, top 5% of all girl catholic school, a competitive dancer since 6 years old (a ton of hours), school clubs, community service 125 hours, attended 2 weeks summer scholar program (business) at Pace U. in nyc.
My regret: she has leadership experience as an apprentice member of a professional dance company, travels to various states and assists in all dance classes, works at competitions and performs with faculty in closing shows. This should have been listed under “leadership” heading. Unfortunately, her counselor lumped it all under “dance experience”. I think it would stand out more under “leadership” because she already has a ton of other things listed under “dance experience”.
