UT Austin Class of 2022 Engineering

@jdl123 - exact same situation here. My daughter has 32 ACT and top 3%, auto admit. Also got rejected for biomedical engineering. She listed biochemistry as her second choice, but her portal says she needs to select a new major so I don’t know if they ignored her second choice or if she wasn’t selected for either.

My son OOS petroleum, rejected. ACT 33, 4.0 UW, 4.4 weighted, all 5 AP scores. Unranking very competitive school. Many EC, leadership, awesome LOR.

Any Biomed, Mechanical, or Civil accepted/rejected yet? Seeing a lot of Electrical and Aerospace.

Me too OOS. Son rejected 35 ACT top 4% 800s on physics and math 2 SATs. He is heartbroken

@LindaGarr So Sorry for your son. Wishing him much success wherever he winds up!!!

My D was rejected for biomedical engineering. She’s OOS, 4.0 UW, 1460 SAT, NMSF, 7 AP’s, top 3% of class, etc… Good luck to everyone else.

Well, my son got into honors biomedical engineering at A&M, which is where he wants to go anyway (even before UT decision) so it really doesn’t matter. However, idk how a student can get into honors at A&M and not even get accepted to UT. Something stinks there.

@jdl123 My son same. Accepted OOS into A&M Petroleum which is also his first choice and honors as well. He was more angry than disappointed as his resume was very solid and feels there isn’t a thing he could have done differently. Others from his OOS high school rejected last night as well. I’m super excited about A&M, Aggies here we come!!!

My D is a no go for BiomedE as well. Didnt get second choice major Biochem either. In state auto admit, 33/1490, 4.0 UW, Top 1% over 600 students, NMSF likely NMF. Accepted TAMU Eng Honors among a few others.

D got into EE, In state auto admits, Top 2%

@MTM542577 I got accepted to Biomed Eng., in-state

If you don’t mind me asking, what are your test scores, GPA and class rank

36 ACT, 1510 SAT, No ranking (school doesn’t rank), 3.8 UW
But I also had research and was a Siemens semifinalist, so I think that helped a lot

My Son just got admitted to ChemE. SAT 1510, to 4%.

Do we know about when Honors decisions come out?

nvm just got denied from Engineering Honors lmao

Just got denied for Engineering Honors OOS. Was accepted to Electrical Engineering in December. 36 ACT 800 Math 2 790 Chem. Probably got denied because didn’t put too much effort into the Honors App

Is regular engineering in UT better than honors engineering at TAMU? I am really confused which one to choose…can anyone share their thoughts? I’d really appreciate it.

My DD was accepted into engineering! Honors app still in review. Congratulations to everyone accepted, and I am truly sorry for those not accepted!

Son got denied in Honors …was accepted into bio med in Nov mid… 1540 / 800 math 2 / 730 Physics / rank 12/447
