Oh yes I found several and most were for waves of Dean’s Scholars acceptances. I only saw one related to HSS which was a rejection but the person said that they were instead accepted to Polymathic even though they applied to HSS.
Anyone heard back from polymathic?
nope and haven’t heard anyone else who has
Nope. I guess no news is still good news at this point (assuming nobody has heard anything).
Crickets… no word at all!
Finally got some power. However, the honors section of the UT portal won’t load??? Probably has to do with lack of power in Austin as well
Everything is shut down, no classes, Austin has a boil order in place, power is starting to come on for some people, lots of burst pipes, etc. I would be patient at this point regarding any of these decisions as there are more important things going on in Austin right now. Hopefully it’s just a glitch but things are pretty bad down there right now. No water, foot shortages, no heat for many, no power for some since Monday, etc.
I’ve been in the same position in my area so I understand. I personally have 5 burst pipes. But alas my stress for college never fades
It doesn’t even seem like it’s gotten better. Waiting for the daily update from my daughter. Phone is still fully charged so looks like she didn’t lose power but it’s a major disaster. It’ll be interesting when Abbott asks for more federal help when he has tried to do this all alone by not wanting to be in the federal electric grid. Unfortunately it seems clear that they need to be. Makes no sense as the only state for them not to be. There’s no one else to blame in the state for a change other than the people making those decisions. This is a catastrophe and I wonder how many lives have to be lost. We have a condo in Austin and I’d be surprised if we have no damage but haven’t heard anything yet.
The Polymathic scholars message now says decision by March 8 (used to say March 1). Weather delay!
Same here
Hi where do you see that staus messge? I am waiting on Health science scholars decision. Thank you!
You just have to click under the arrow where it says they are still reviewing your decion on the honors tab
Looks like there were some Turing Scholar decisions few mins ago. Hopefully other honors decision will
Follow
Nothing here for polymathic. Hoping some decisions come out this week but realistically we probably won’t hear until March 8th
I know someone above said give the UT admissions and Honors colleges grace because of the recent weather in Texas. However, I live in Texas and have a kid currently at UT, and many professors did not push back assignments much. They were basically expecting the kids to still be working. And let’s be real, the ice storm happened the week that honors decisions should have been out originally anyway and only 2 weeks before the extended date. I find it hard to believe that most decisions weren’t already made and/or that the staff couldn’t do some work remotely assuming they had power. I’m sorry but it is getting a little annoying waiting on answers when my daughter literally sent her application in 7 months ago. And I am also annoyed by Monday release dates…if they have decisions on Monday, then they had them by the Friday before! Sorry, just ready for some answers. My daughter said she’d rather just get rejected (for Honors college) at this point if it meant she could just get an answer! Sorry for my rant…carry on…lol
I agree. It’s been a long time now.
I hear ya. I’m finding that everything colleges are doing at this point is annoying me! I think everyone is fatigued from a weird stressful application year plus all of the delays. Ugh!
Agree! They say they are trying to do everything to make this less stressful for students but their actions seem the opposite. Granted this is a different school, not UT, but my daughter is the finalist for a scholarship and she received notification almost two weeks ago but the interview is not for another 2 weeks. Interviews are virtual this year. Why not just have the interview sooner so they can let the students know the results sooner? Our family just wants to be able to start planning financially logistically, etc…
Yep. This is my third rodeo, so to speak, and by FAR the most stressful year to go through this process.
